Frequently Asked Questions

Before You Buy

1. Can I talk to someone before I order?

Absolutely. If you’re comparing setups, checking whether a simulator will fit your space, or trying to make sure everything will work together, we’re happy to help before you buy.

Call us: 213-224-9868
Email: Support@SimulatorVault.com
Or chat with us directly through the website.

We can help with simulator selection, room dimensions, compatibility, upgrades, shipping, installation, and setup.

Sometimes you just need to talk through the setup with someone who knows the equipment.

2. How do I know which simulator is right for me?

Start with how you plan to use it.

Are you building a racing rig, flight cockpit, golf simulator, motion system, home setup, or something for commercial use?

Then think about your space, budget, experience level, existing equipment, and how realistic or immersive you want the experience to be.

If you’re not sure where to start, send us those details and we’ll help narrow down the options.

3. How do I know which simulator will fit my space?

Start with three measurements: width, depth, and ceiling height.

A lot of home simulator setups work well with roughly 10 ft wide × 12 ft deep × 9 ft high, but there isn’t one rule for every simulator.

A racing cockpit takes up very different space than a golf simulator, flight cockpit, motion platform, or full commercial setup.

You’ll also want to think about monitor or screen placement, seating position, doors, clearance around the rig, and how you’ll move around the space.

Not sure? Send us your measurements. We offer a complimentary layout consultation and can help you figure out what will actually fit before you order.

4. Can you help me design a simulator room from scratch?

Yes.

If you’re starting with an empty room, garage, office, basement, or commercial space, send us the dimensions and tell us what kind of simulator you want to build.

We can help you think through rig size, screens, monitors, projector placement, seating, motion clearance, cable routing, computer location, and future upgrades before you start buying equipment.

5. Do you offer free shipping?

Yes. Standard shipping is free on all orders within the 48 contiguous United States, with no minimum purchase requirement.

Optional services such as expedited shipping, inside delivery, room-of-choice delivery, assembly, installation, or white-glove service may have an additional charge when available. Any additional charge will be disclosed before purchase.

We do not currently ship to Alaska or Hawaii.

6. How long does delivery take?

It varies by simulator.

Some products are stocked and ready to ship. Others are built to order, configured for your setup, or shipped directly from the manufacturer.

Larger systems may also travel by freight instead of a regular UPS or FedEx delivery.

Estimated lead times are listed on the product page whenever available. You can also contact us before ordering and we’ll check the latest estimate for the system you’re considering.

7. Will I receive tracking information?

Yes.

Once your order ships, we’ll send tracking information to the email address used for your order.

Large simulator systems may arrive by freight, in which case the carrier may contact you directly to arrange delivery.

Some larger setups also ship in multiple boxes or separate shipments, so you may receive more than one tracking number.

8. What should I check when my simulator is delivered?

For larger or freight deliveries, take a quick look at the packaging before accepting the shipment.

If you notice visible damage, photograph it and note it with the carrier when possible.

Once the shipment is opened, check that all boxes, hardware, and major components are present before starting assembly.

If anything looks wrong, contact us as soon as possible and we’ll help with the next step.

9. Do I need professional installation?

For some systems, no. For others, it’s worth it.

Smaller rigs and cockpits can often be assembled at home with basic tools. Larger simulators, projection systems, motion platforms, multi-screen setups, and commercial installations can be considerably more involved.

If you’d rather not deal with assembly, mounting, cable management, calibration, and setup, ask us about professional and white-glove installation options for qualifying systems.

10. Will my simulator arrive ready to use?

That depends on the system.

Some arrive mostly assembled or preconfigured. Others require assembly, software installation, calibration, firmware updates, or connection to your own PC and accessories.

We include setup information on the product page whenever it’s available so you know what to expect before it arrives.

If you want something as close to turnkey as possible, contact us and we’ll point you toward the right options.

11. Do your simulators come with a warranty?

Most of the equipment we sell is backed by the manufacturer’s warranty.

Coverage varies by manufacturer and product, and different components may have different warranty terms.

You’ll find specific warranty information on the product page whenever it’s available.

If something goes wrong, reach out to us. We’ll help you figure out the next step and work with the manufacturer when needed.

12. What is your return policy?

Return eligibility depends on the product, manufacturer, and whether the item was custom-built, special ordered, installed, or opened.

Because simulator systems can be large, technical, and expensive to ship, we recommend reviewing the return information on the product page before ordering.

If you’re unsure whether a product can be returned, contact us before you buy and we’ll help you check the terms.

13. What happens if I need help after it arrives?

Reach out to us.

Simulator setups can involve hardware, software, firmware, displays, controls, calibration, accessories, and occasionally some troubleshooting.

We’ll help you work out whether the issue is with setup, compatibility, the product itself, or something that needs manufacturer support — and get you pointed in the right direction.

14. Are these simulators suitable for beginners?

Yes.

You don’t need to be an experienced sim racer, pilot, golfer, or gamer to enjoy a simulator.

There are setups for complete beginners all the way through serious enthusiasts, professional training, and commercial use.

If this is your first simulator, tell us. We’ll help you avoid overbuilding the setup or buying equipment you don’t actually need.

15. Can kids use the simulators?

Many simulator systems can be used by younger users, but suitability depends on the specific product, controls, seat adjustability, motion system, and manufacturer recommendations.

For motion systems or more powerful equipment, adult supervision may be appropriate.

If you’re buying for a family or shared space, let us know so we can help you choose something that works for different users.

16. Do you sell commercial simulator systems?

Yes.

We work with customers building simulators for entertainment venues, training facilities, clubs, hospitality spaces, offices, experiential activations, and other commercial environments.

Commercial setups usually have different needs when it comes to durability, daily use, installation, maintenance, and ease of operation.

Tell us what you’re building and we’ll help you narrow down the right equipment.

17. Can I buy multiple simulators for a commercial location?

Yes.

If you’re outfitting a venue, training center, entertainment space, showroom, or multi-station simulator room, contact us before ordering.

We can help you compare systems, plan multiple stations, think through space requirements, and identify setups that make sense for repeated commercial use.

Getting More Technical

Already have an idea of what you want? Here are some of the questions that come up once you start getting into the hardware, software, and build itself.

18. Is the simulator software compatible with my PC or device?

It depends on the simulator.

Some systems need a dedicated Windows gaming PC, while others work with consoles, macOS, tablets, mobile devices, or their own built-in hardware.

Compatibility can also depend on the software you want to run, your graphics card, available USB ports, display outputs, and the peripherals you’re connecting.

Already have a PC, console, or simulator software you want to use? Tell us what you have and we’ll help you check compatibility before you buy.

19. Do I need to buy a gaming PC separately?

Not always.

Some simulator packages include the computer or processing hardware. Others are sold as simulator hardware only.

With higher-end racing, flight, golf, and motion setups, your PC can make a big difference in graphics, frame rate, number of displays, VR performance, and overall responsiveness.

Check the individual product page or send us the simulator you’re considering and we’ll tell you what you’ll need.

20. Can I use my existing wheel, pedals, controls, or accessories?

Often, yes.

Many systems can be built around equipment you already own, but not every component works with every rig.

If you’re bringing your own wheelbase, pedals, shifter, HOTAS, yoke, controls, monitor, VR headset, gaming PC, launch monitor, or other gear, send us the model names.

We’ll help you check compatibility and fit before you order.

21. Can I upgrade my simulator later?

In many cases, yes.

Depending on the system, you may be able to add or upgrade controls, pedals, wheelbases, monitors, PCs, motion platforms, seats, audio, VR, software, screens, projectors, and accessories later.

If you already know you’ll eventually want motion, triple monitors, VR, or other upgrades, tell us before you buy.

We can help you choose a setup that gives you room to grow.

22. What’s the difference between an entry-level setup and a high-end simulator?

Usually it comes down to realism, hardware quality, adjustability, feedback, immersion, and how much you can upgrade later.

In racing, for example, a higher-end setup might mean a stronger direct-drive wheelbase, better pedals, a more rigid cockpit, motion, tactile feedback, and multiple displays.

For flight, it could mean dedicated controls, cockpit panels, multiple screens, and a more realistic seating position.

Golf simulators have their own differences in tracking accuracy, launch-monitor technology, screen and enclosure size, projection, and software.

You don’t always need the most expensive setup. You need the one that fits how you actually plan to use it.

23. Should I choose triple monitors, an ultrawide, a projector, or VR?

There’s no single best option.

Triple monitors give you a wide field of view and are especially popular for racing.

Ultrawide monitors are simpler and take up less space.

Projectors are common for golf simulators and larger immersive setups.

VR can give you a very immersive experience without needing multiple displays.

The right choice depends on your simulator type, room size, graphics hardware, budget, and how much setup you want to deal with.

If you’re not sure, tell us how you plan to use the simulator and we can help you narrow it down.

24. Are motion simulators worth it?

For the right user, absolutely.

Motion can add another level of immersion by recreating acceleration, braking, cornering, turbulence, terrain, or other movement depending on the simulator.

But motion systems also require more space, more setup, and usually a larger budget.

If you’re deciding between spending more on motion or putting that budget toward better controls, displays, or other hardware, talk to us. We can help you weigh the tradeoffs.

25. How difficult is simulator setup and calibration?

It varies by system.

A basic rig may only need assembly and connection to your PC or console.

More advanced setups can involve display alignment, control calibration, software configuration, firmware updates, force-feedback settings, motion tuning, or projector positioning.

If you’re new to simulators, don’t let that put you off. We can help you understand what’s involved before you choose a system.

26. Can I build a completely custom simulator?

Yes.

A lot of great simulator setups aren’t completely off-the-shelf.

If you’re building around a particular room, triple monitors, an ultrawide, projector, VR, motion platform, existing hardware, or a specific sim title, we can help you put together a system where all the pieces make sense together.

For a custom residential or commercial build, send us your space, simulator type, budget, and what you want out of the setup.

27. I’m stuck between two setups. Can you help me choose?

Definitely.

Send us the two systems you’re looking at along with your room size, type of simulator, experience level, equipment you already own, and budget.

We’ll walk you through the differences that actually matter and tell you which one makes more sense for the way you plan to use it.

You don’t need the biggest or most expensive simulator.

You need the one you’ll actually want to keep using.
